Equipment Guide
There are dog agility products for different type of abilities. For that reason, it is important to know the equipment you are purchasing. It doesn’t matter if you plan on training the next world champion or you just want to have fun, it is time for you to start planning out the course obstacle. Below you will find a list of the most common types of dog agility equipment.
- This type of equipment is designed to increase a dog’s endurance and balance. The A-Frame is a two-platform equipment that forms an A shape.
- A dog agility see-saw is much like the see-saws that you see in children’s playgrounds.
- Tunnels are one of the most recent additions to dog agility competitions. It is an obstacle that consists of interconnected tunnels.
- A panel jump is a constructed of solid panel from the ground up to the jump height, panels are usually removable for height adjustments.
- A Hurdle jump has the same concept of a panel jump but instead of jumping over a solid panel, the dog has to jump over a single horizontal pole. Like panels, a hurdle can be adjusted for height.
- Tire jumps is a tire shaped object suspended so a dog can jump through. These jumps are varied from shape and height, depending on the course.
- The pause table is a elevated platform that a dog performs a “pause” behavior.
- Considered one of the most difficult obstacles at competitions, the weave pole is a series of upright poles that dogs “weave” in and out from.
